The Long Shot: Bows Arrive

A second way to fight. Bows and slings hit from across the clearing instead of nose to nose, but they ask for things a sword never did: arrows in your quiver, a full second of standing still, and a clear line to whatever you are aiming at. Let something walk up to you and your own bow turns against you. Duels are now fought on your feet as well, and every weapon in the game now wears down from fighting, not just from mining.

The Raid: Boss Battles Reforged

Boss battles are no longer a tapping contest. You send your character in with potions and a hot meal and the fight resolves itself round by round, whether you are watching or not. What you earn comes down to the gear you brought, not how fast your finger is. Pull fallen fighters back onto their feet with your own potions, take titles for what you actually did, and let the whole realm hear when a raid is called.

The Turning Year

The seasons were scenery. Now they are weather you have to plan around. Four seasons turn with the world clock and each one changes what the land will give you: fish run fat in summer and thin under the frost, the groves swell in autumn, the ore seams run rich in winter. Ashwing has learned to breathe fire, and the caves now hold you for a full hour instead of fifteen minutes.

Brothers in Arms: The Co-op Update

Fight together for the first time. Combat is rebuilt from the ground up: no more one-on-one duels with a mob while your friend watches, every weapon swings at its own speed, and threat decides who the monster hunts. Form a party of five, share XP, and hunt Ashwing the Dragon, a world mini boss who lands once a day and rewards everyone who fights. Plus goblins in the fields, a one hour clock on the caves, and a long list of fixes.

World Events: The Realm Turns

The world itself now turns. Eight world events reshape the land's bounty while they hold: floods that drown the coal seams, gold veins that run double rich, forests that surge, shoals that empty. Every event gives with one hand and takes with the other, announced by a warning horn across the whole server and shown on your character panel while it lasts.

The Ranch: Hatch, Breed, Trade

A whole new system. Sixteen beasts across four kins, eggs that drop from everything you already play, pens that produce daily, a six-stat breeding line with real inheritance, rarity climbing through ascension, and a marketplace where a perfect bloodline sells for hundreds. Every one of the six stats now does something real — your follower gives you speed, crits, loot luck and evasion, and comes with you into caves. Breeding costs energy and time instead of dollars.

How Fishing Works: Rods, Pools & the Catch

Fishing in TerraX is its own world — your rod decides what you can catch, the pool decides what's biting, and a timing game decides whether you land it. A guide to the full loop, rewards, and competition.

Quest log: on this page

In a lot of games, fishing is a side activity — a minigame you do when you need a break from the main loop. Stardew Valley made it a rhythm game. Final Fantasy XV made it a full-on sport with tackle and line tension. TerraX sits somewhere in between: your gear decides what's in the water, you choose your target, and then it's down to timing. What you catch turns into ingredients for cooking, listings on the market, and entries on the leaderboard. This guide walks you through how fishing actually works so you can make every cast count, without spoiling the kind of details that don't belong in a player-facing guide.

Your Rod Opens the Door

You can't fish without a rod. In TerraX the rod defines everything else. Each rod has a rarity — common through legendary — and that rarity decides which fish can appear in your pool. A common rod only ever sees common-tier fish; a rare rod opens up rarer species. It's the same idea as mining, where your pickaxe tier gates which ores you see. Better rod, rarer fish, better ingredients, and often better market value. Get a rod, equip it, and you're in the game. No rod, no pool.

Some rods take wear each time you attempt a catch — whether you land the fish or miss. When durability hits zero, you have to repair before you can fish with it again. Part of the loop is keeping an eye on your gear and deciding when to repair or switch. It keeps fishing tied to the economy.

The Pool and the Bite

When you're ready to fish, you see a pool of fish — several possibilities tied to your rod's rarity. Switch rods and the pool refreshes. Over time you get fresh pools, so what's available keeps changing. Within a pool, different species show up with different likelihoods; rarer fish in that band are harder to see, but when they do appear you're in for a better reward if you land them.

You need bait to fish. Each attempt — catch or miss — uses bait and energy. You're always choosing which fish to cast at and always spending resources. Run out of bait and you're done until you restock. The core loop is rod plus bait, pick a fish, and try to catch it.

The Catch: Timing and Consequences

You pick a fish from the pool and cast. What happens next is a timing game: land it in the window and the fish is yours; miss the window and you don't. Both outcomes cost energy and bait, so miss too often and you've burned resources with nothing to show. There's a real risk–reward feel — going for trickier or rarer fish can pay off in better loot, but only if your timing holds up. Every cast is a commitment.

When you land a fish, its weight is set then — it varies within a range for that species. Heavier catches give more ingredients, and sometimes a shot at a second drop. Rarer fish give better yields, so a big legendary catch can be a huge haul. The fish and the ingredients (and any bonus materials) go to your inventory. Those ingredients feed cooking — buffs for mining, battle, or PvP — and anything you don't need you can list on the market. Fishing plugs into the same economy as mining and forging; it's just a different way to gather.

Energy and the Big Picture

Fishing costs energy, just like mining, boss battles, and dungeons. You can't infinitely fish in one sitting. You're always choosing: spend energy on the mine, the arena, the dungeon, or the water. That balance is intentional. Fishing is a chill way to gather ingredients and compete on leaderboards without the intensity of combat, but it's still part of the same daily budget. Plan around your energy and your bait supply and you'll get the most out of each session.

Leaderboards: All-Time and Weekly

TerraX tracks your biggest catches. The all-time leaderboard ranks players by the single largest fish they've ever landed — one catch, one weight. The weekly leaderboard rotates so that different fish or goals are in the spotlight each week, giving competitive anglers a reason to come back. If you're into bragging rights or want to see how you stack up, the leaderboards are where you'll find your name — or the names to beat.

Tournaments: Stakes and Prizes

Beyond the global and weekly boards, TerraX has player-run fishing tournaments. You pay an entry fee in USDT to join; your catches during the event count toward the standings, and when time runs out the top finishers take the prizes. It's a way to turn fishing into head-to-head competition with real USDT on the line. The same skills that make you good at the core loop — rod choice, bait management, timing — are what make you dangerous in a tournament.

Design Choices: Why It Feels This Way

TerraX fishing ties every attempt to energy and bait, so you're always making choices instead of mindlessly grinding. The rod-rarity gate means progression feels tangible — you're unlocking new tiers of fish, not just fishing "harder." The timing game keeps you in the moment. Compared to one-button fishing, TerraX asks a bit more per cast; in return, what you catch ties straight into cooking, the market, and competition. If you like the chill of fishing but want it to matter for the rest of the game, this is that loop.

Practical Tips

  • Equip the best rod you can for the tier of fish you want. Higher rarity means rarer species and better yields.

  • Stock bait before long sessions. Every cast uses bait; running out stops you cold.

  • Watch rod durability. If your rod takes wear, repair it before it hits zero so you're never stuck.

  • Use fish in cooking for buffs before mining or battle — or sell surplus on the market for USDT.

  • Keep an eye on the weekly leaderboard if you want to compete; the focus changes each week.

  • Join tournaments when you want competition with stakes. Entry fees and prizes make every catch matter.

Why Fishing Matters

Fishing in TerraX isn't filler. It's a full gathering loop that feeds cooking, the market, and your place on the leaderboards. Your rod decides what you can catch, the pool decides what's biting, and your timing decides whether you land it. Energy and bait keep the loop balanced; weight and rarity decide the payoff. Whether you're in it for ingredients, for USDT, or for the thrill of a tournament, understanding how rods, pools, and the catch work lets you spend your time and energy wisely. Cast smart, watch your gear, and the water will reward you.

Archery Arrives, and It Rewards the Patient

A bow is not a sword that reaches further. It asks you to stand perfectly still before it will loose a single arrow, and it punishes you brutally for letting anything close the distance. Here is how all four bows compare, and why running is the worst instinct an archer can have.
